Kat Herzog

A record-setter and playmaker, Kat (McNish) Herzog brings elite-level experience, leadership, and a deep understanding of the game to her role at Pittsburgh Premier Lacrosse Club. A Caldwell, New Jersey native, Kat honed her skills with Steps NJ, a premier club lacrosse program, before making her mark at the collegiate level.

As a standout midfielder at Duquesne University, Kat finished her collegiate career as the program’s all-time leader in assists (111)—a mark that ranked second among all active NCAA players at the time.

Throughout her time at Duquesne, Kat was a dominant force in the Atlantic 10 Conference and beyond. She was a two-time First Team All-Atlantic 10 selection, named 2008 Atlantic 10 Student-Athlete of the Year, and served as a team captain. Known for her high lacrosse IQ and precision passing, she delivered back-to-back 74-point seasons and ranked among the NCAA’s top ten in assists per game.

Kat made an immediate impact as a freshman, earning a spot on the A-10 All-Rookie Team and tying the school record for assists in a game. She set multiple program records, including seven assists in a single contest and a school-record 11-point performance.

At the high school level, Kat was a three-sport standout, earning 238 goals and 133 assists over her lacrosse career. A three-time first team all-conference pick, academic All-American, and all-state soccer honoree, she led her team to multiple conference championships while also excelling in the classroom and student leadership.

Off the field, Kat is a dedicated first-grade teacher in the Mt. Lebanon School District, where she brings the same energy and passion to the classroom as she does on the lacrosse field. She earned her degree in Elementary Education and was recognized for her academic achievements with honors including the Dean’s List, IWLCA Honor Roll, and selection as an Atlantic 10 SAAC representative.

Now, Kat combines her elite playing experience, coaching skills, and love for education to develop the next generation of PPLC athletes—emphasizing fundamentals, vision, and teamwork with every rep.
