Maddie Sams is a proud member of the PPLC Class of 2023 and has consistently demonstrated adaptability, leadership, and a strong competitive drive throughout her athletic journey.
A standout at Chartiers Valley High School, Maddie served as the 2023 Varsity Captain and helped lead her team to its first-ever WPIAL Championship in 2022. As a junior, she anchored the defense, leading the team in caused turnovers and ground balls. Her efforts earned her Second Team All-Section honors and recognition for her playmaking ability and relentless work ethic.
Off the field, Maddie excelled academically as a National Honor Society member and High Honor Roll student. She was actively involved in school leadership and the arts—participating in Best Buddies, serving on the Student Athletic Advisory Council, and performing as a vocalist, actress, and dancer with the International Thespian Society.
Maddie began her collegiate career as a defender at Notre Dame College, gaining valuable NCAA experience before transferring to the University of Mount Union, where she became part of a powerhouse Raiders program that captured the 2025 conference championship.
Currently pursuing a degree in Education, Maddie is passionate about helping others grow—whether on the field as a teammate and mentor or in the classroom as a future educator. She is especially excited to give back to PPLC, the program that helped shape her development, and looks forward to coaching and inspiring current players as they build their skills and love for the game.
