Allison Lyon

Allison Lyon is a tenacious and reliable defender for the Mercyhurst Lakers, known for her grit, field awareness, and unwavering consistency. A mainstay in the starting lineup, she has started all 34 games of her collegiate career, tallying 32 ground balls, 20 caused turnovers, and 7 draw controls.

In the 2024 season, Allison started all 15 games, continuing to anchor the Lakers’ defense with 15 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers—often drawing matchups against top offensive threats. Her sophomore season in 2023 was equally strong, with starts in all 18 games and 17 ground balls, along with her first collegiate assist in a game against Lock Haven.

A proud graduate of North Allegheny High School, Allison competed at the club level with Pittsburgh Premier Lacrosse Club (PPLC) as a member of the Class of 2022. Now, she looks forward to giving back to the program by coaching and mentoring current PPLC players, sharing the same defensive instincts and competitive drive that shaped her own development.

Off the field, Allison is pursuing a degree in Sports Medicine with a concentration in Pre-Occupational Therapy, reflecting her deep commitment to health, wellness, and helping others. Her combination of leadership, resilience, and heart continues to make her a vital part of the Mercyhurst program.
