Katrina Silva
Katrina Silva is a seasoned and respected coach with over two decades of collegiate coaching experience. She led Robert Morris University’s (RMU) Division 1 women’s lacrosse team as head coach from 2018 through 2023, after previously serving as assistant and volunteer coach since 2012. Under her leadership, the Colonials team posted strong performances with multiple postseason appearances and conference honors.
- 2018–2019: Reached the NEC Semifinals both years, finishing 21-14 overall
- 2021: Went 14-3 (10-0 MAC), won the MAC Regular-Season Championship, and made an NCAA Tournament appearance.
- 2022–2023: Posted back-to-back MAC Regular-Season Co-Championships and advanced to the MAC Tournament Final both seasons.
Before RMU, Silva was the head coach at Virginia Tech, guiding the Hokies to four straight ACC Tournament appearances and securing the program’s first-ever ACC win. Prior to that, she spent seven years as head coach at Colgate University, where she compiled a 67-57 record, won two Patriot League Tournament titles, three regular season titles, and earned Patriot League Coach of the Year honors twice. Her teams also made two NCAA Tournament appearances and produced four Regional All-Americans.
Silva began her head coaching career at Roanoke College, leading both the women’s lacrosse and field hockey teams to winning seasons. In 1997, she took the lacrosse team to the NCAA Division III quarterfinals.
A 1993 graduate of Towson University, Silva was a standout student-athlete, earning three letters as a lacrosse goaltender and four in field hockey. She still ranks in Towson’s all-time top 10 for saves and save percentage in lacrosse, and was named the Southeast Conference Defensive Player of the Year in field hockey her senior year.
