I'm writing to inform you about a small clinic we are administering at Amherst College in June. The D3 Experience is geared towards bringing the people of Division III lacrosse to your students to provide a glimpse of the student-athlete experience and highlight some great coaches at our level of the game.

Enrollment is limited to 76 kids. Our coaches enjoy getting to know them through the course of the day both in drill and small-group interactions. There is opportunity for conversations, coaching and connection. We welcome parents to the panels and they hear a presentation on Admissions and Financial Aid.

The following coaches are attending:
Karen Henning, Colby
Christine Paradis, Amherst
Jude Finnerghty, Vassar
Liz Ford, Wooster
Karen Borbee, Swarthmore
Amanda Daniels, Dennison
Elizabeth Ghilardi, Skidmore
Patty Penhke, Albright (GK Coach)
Some of our Division III student-athletes join us for the day too.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
More information is on our website  thed3experience.org

I have attached an image you can use on your club's social media if you'd like.

We are proud that our program has back to back Southern Conference (SoCon) Tournament Championships in 2018 & 2019, resulting in consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, as well as, wining the SoCon Regular Season Championship this past season. Below is additional information on Mercer University’s academics, facilities, athletics, and location in order to give you an idea of all the amazing things Mercer has to offer.

MERCER UNIVERSITY

Academically

“Mercer University is located one hour outside of Atlanta in Macon, Georgia, is one of American’s oldest and most distinctive institutions of higher learning, offering rigorous programs that span the undergraduate liberal arts to doctoral level degrees. There are 130 fields of study including 13 pre-professional tracks. A hallmark of Mercer is its service to humankind including its Mercer on a Mission program that sends students and professors to countries across the globe to help alleviate human struggle.  In 2016 US News & World Report ranked Mercer as one of the 25 best values in the nation.” Our student-athletes come in with an average 3.8 GPA, a 28 ACT and a 1240 SAT.

Athletically

Mercer is a member of the Southern Conference. We boast two SoCon Tournament Championships (2018 & 2019), one SoCon Regular Season Title (2019), and two NCAA Tournament appearances (2018 & 2019). This past season Mercer Women’s Lacrosse had six players selected to the SoCon All-Tournament Team, along with one of our athletes being named the Most Outstanding Tournament Player. We had two First Team All-Conference selections and three Second Team All-Conference selections for the regular season. Our team collected three of the four regular season awards by having the SoCon Freshman of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and Coach of the Year.

Facilities

All of our home games and practices are held at Five Star Football and Lacrosse stadium. We have a fabulous athletic training room and weight room facility that are both housed in the Homer & Ruth Drake Field House. We are privileged to have a contract with ESPN through the SoCon where all of our home games are live streamed on ESPN3.

Location

We are located one hour outside of Atlanta, and two and a half hours from Savannah, GA & Tybee Island. Our location has many advantages with very mild winters and incredible springs which we all know makes for perfect lacrosse weather!!

Elite 180 (DIII, Multi Coach):

https://www.elite180lax.com/

Elite 180 Lacrosse continues to deliver a unique camp experience by offering individual skill coaching, excellent competition & performance evaluation creating the ideal recruiting setting. As the recruiting landscape has changed to thousands of athletes at a single tournament, Elite 180 has gone against this trend and kept enrollment limited to keep the athlete to coach ratio low in order to maximize exposure.  Each player at camp will have the opportunity to be seen by EVERY college coach. The staff is comprised of NESCAC and other elite academic DIII school coaches. Our venue offers the perfect setting; four adjacent fields all within a two minute walk from residence halls and dining commons.

Champion's Edge Lax Camp (Division I, Multi Coach):

Good morning,

We are emailing you to let you know about a great one day camp, June 27th, at Loomis Chaffee we co-host each year. It's called Champions Edge, our partner is Ultimate Events and Sports the parent company of the WPLL.

This one day camp brings excellent coaching to the players of New England from far and wide- these coaches are some of the most successful and passionate D1 coaches. We aim to bring of out of region coaches to the area so girls don't have to travel all over to work with them. Best of all it’s in New England, Windsor CT, and we aim to attract a high level of talent and make it as competitive as possible for the girls! The list of coaches attending this year is still coming together and all those on the website have committed already.

The day consists of a lot of small group-play working with the coaches throughout the first session. We will break for a quick lunch and a question and answer session with the college coaches. The camp day extends with competitive games both 7v7 and full field, again coached by our great staff, they are involved and on the field the whole time with the players. It's a full eight hour day for the players and coaches. For more information and registration please refer to www.championsedgelaxcamp.com

Any questions please email me.

In an effort to be as transparent as possible in our recruiting status, please review the following:

2020 Recruiting Class - Rising Seniors:  We are not officially finished recruiting for the 2020 class, but at this time we are primarily looking for offensive minded players.  We will be focusing our evaluation efforts at tournaments on the 2021 class and highly encourage any interested 2020 players to attend either our Elite Camp (June 24th-26thor Prospect Camp (July 12th) if they have a serious interest in attending/competing at ECU. We would also encourage said players to send us film, transcripts, and express interest via email if they have not done so already.

2021 Recruiting Class - Rising Juniors:  Our staff will be actively and aggressively evaluating across the country the 2021 high school graduating class this spring and summer.  We are looking to fill all positions - goalie, attack, mid, defense.  We are looking for student-athletes who play with confidence, are relentless on the field no matter what the position, and have the drive/work ethic to improve their skills throughout their careers in order to take them to the next level.  Our 2021 class will be larger in scope as it will replace our first recruiting class ever. Beginning September 1st of their junior year of high school, we are allowed to have recruiting conversations with you (club coaches) and the student-athlete.

2022 and Younger:  We will be evaluating to get an idea of the top level players in these classes to start our database.  We will be evaluating ALL positions.

Juniata College Prospect Day (DIII):

Today is our last day of classes for the semester and it definitely has me thinking about the summer! I wanted to take a minute to send you some info about our Summer Prospect Day on July 26. It promises to be a great opportunity for your players to experience campus, meet our team and work with our coaches all in one day.

The first part of the day is a campus First-Look Friday event run by our Enrollment team, followed by a lacrosse clinic in the afternoon with our players and coaches. We'll finish up with a Q&A. (Players are able to register for the lacrosse portion only if they choose.)

Please help us in getting the word out to your players. I hope some of them will be able to join us to learn more about our program and the many different aspects of living, studying, and competing at Juniata! Of course, don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or would like more info about the event.
